We offer software-based topographical training carefully designed in accordance with the TfL syllabus and real exam-style questions. Our comprehensive training programme is structured to help you pass the topographical assessment on your first attempt, focusing on developing the essential skills needed to master both the A–Z Atlas for the theory component and the official TfL software for route planning. The course includes a series of mock tests featuring realistic exam questions created in line with TfL guidelines for both the theory and route planning sections, helping you build confidence and navigate effectively so you are fully prepared to succeed.
Frequently Asked Questions
It is a test of your ability to read maps and plan routes across London. It has a theory component using the A-Z Atlas and a route planning component using official TfL software. It is a requirement for obtaining a private hire (PCO) licence.
Training starts at £60 for a one-day class, £250 for 5 days, £350 for 10 days, or £500 for our 'until you pass' package.
It is challenging if you are unprepared, particularly the route planning section. Our training uses real exam-style questions and mock tests built in line with TfL guidelines, which is why most of our students pass on their first attempt.
The topographical assessment is required for private hire licensing unless you hold an exemption. We can advise you on whether it applies to your application.
